Curvy Budweiser girls tend to the needs of a thirsty crowd. The aroma of BBQ chicken and beef fills the air. A 65-year-old lady strutting her stuff ( ! ! ? ) highlights the bikini contest and then it's time to prep the pit !
Gallons of Wesson oil and 2000lbs ( or more !) of cabbage. The Cabbage Patch Pit Crew start to shred the ton of the green stuff as one head at a time is tossed into a chipper connected to the back of a tractor, - a few noisy grinding seconds later - instant slaw.
The oil is added and then raked to a shiny green mass.The Slaw is ready !
Twelve competitors vie for the title, some local girls but others come from as far away as West Virginia and Maryland. These are high stakes, first place is a lucrative $750. Many of the girls stretch and warm up before the matches began -this is serious stuff not just fun-and-games anymore.
The rules -No choking, no headlocks, no hair pulling,
Two bikini-clad girls size each other up, share a friendly handshake, and traditionally toss handfuls of slaw on the referee before getting down to business.
The match lasts five minutes, the girls panting heavy, shimmering with cooking oil, slaw clinging to their bodies as they engage in combat again. The crowd cheers the victor steps on to the winner’s bracket. This is a double elimination competition so the scene will repeat itself many times over the course of the afternoon. This is good honest primal fun of the lowest kind -
and it makes people smile !
Although not renowned for our healthy lifestyles it is a well kept secret that bikers enjoy coleslaw by the Bucketful during the Daytona Bike week USA.

This time of year, annually thousands of bikers converge on a rural farm road to witness
the infamous Coleslaw wrestling matches at Sopotnick’s Cabbage Patch Bar.
They are here for slaw, and nothing else will do. Two-thousand pounds of it, in fact, mixed in with gallons of Wesson oil, all spread out in a makeshift pit covered with a giant blue tarp. READ MORE below & click to see pics !
